Awesome! I would recommend this book to anyone who knows anyone who has come out, needs to come out or may come out one day. I'd also suggest it to any mother, whether or not her children are gay.

DeGeneres spent most of her life as a hard-working, middle-class woman consumed with her marriages, raising her kids and making a living. That changed in 1997 when her actress/comedian daughter, Ellen DeGeneres, "came out" as a lesbian, both personally and as "Ellen Morgan," her character on the nationally televised sitcom Ellen.

I would highly recommend this book to any parent who knows or finds out that they have a gay child. Betty DeGeneres' way of writing is honest, down to earth and respectful. I just wish that more parents would take note of how Betty does her best to love her children unconditionally. We all could learn so much from her and her life's journey. Bless you Betty!!

Meh - not really what I was expecting. This book could have been half the pages - I didn't even finish it. In my opinion, this book should have been called "All about me, Betty" not "Love, Ellen". It was interesting to a point, but for my taste there was way too much background on the mom herself, and not really on both of them together. I don't know - I was really looking forward to reading it, and came away disappointed.

This is a very interesting bio of Ellen Degeneres' mother, and give you some insight into how Ellen became who she is.

This was okay, it was nice to read about Ellen when she was a child. Be warned, this was written before she hit big with the talk show, so there is lots of praise for Anne Heche. Still, something worth reading.
