I've been dreaming of your face
Imagining the feel of your embrace
Your touch would spread warmth through me
Oh! the delights I'd feel in your sweet company

For years I have known you now
Yet strangely someway somehow
That right moment I've waited for for so long
To really know you never came along

So many hits and misses came and passed
I thought something was starting then it wouldn't last
I was confused, didn't know how to feel
A confirmation of your feelings I couldn't seal

So I tried a few times to be with another
Hoping and praying that I would find forever
And though I did love and was loved, it wasn't complete
My heart just couldn't find that perfect beat

My failed attempts at love perhaps have nothing to do
With those small little reminders I often got from you
But as surely as the dawn breaks, it worked like magic
You stayed in my life, you clung like static

Now many years later but never too late
A sweet something's starting that's well worth the wait
I pray to heaven that this time it'll be for real
Cause there's no more sense denying the way that I feel
