Hi Carol,

Yes, I have just discovered James Patterson - I do not know what took me so long.  Right now, I am on the Alex Cross Series and have read the first 3 books.  I have taken a break for awhile, but will be picking it back up soon.  I was wondering about Sundays at Tiffanys and will have to add that to my TBR list.

April

He's very popular, I just turned a guy onto him last week.  I hope he like it.  He was asking for a "suspense" writer and JP was the first one I thought of.

i would love to read it if you want to send it to me.  i can pm you my info.  thanks for the offer:)  i have only read the alex cross series from him so far, and i really like them.  my hubby is addicted to him as well...he has also read the women's murder club series.   i'm not sure if he'd get into the sunday at tiffany's, so i may just have to read that one without him...LOL.

Carol, please post back after you finish Beach House.  I have it on audio and have been hesitant to start it.  I read something by him many years ago, and didn't care for it and never read another thing.

How graphic does he get(as in the violence-graphic sex I can handle LOL but not too descriptive on the violence..)I have the first 3 or 4 of the Ladies' detective club (think those are his) and a few others I  picked up here and there cheap.

He doesn't really get real graphic most of the time.  I have read the entire Cross series and enjoyed it except Big Bad Wolf  which I thought was terrible.  The Woman's Murder Club series is really good.  Some of his books outside the two series seemed a little "hurried" to me.  Like he's trying to write as many books as possible without caring about the content.

Love James Patterson. I've read all seven of the Women's Murder Mystery series. 1st to Die - 2nd Chance - 3rd Degree - 4th of July - 5th Horseman - 6th ?? - 7th Heaven.

I've been reading Patterson books for many years.

I started James Patterson's books many years ago and read each new one as they come out.

Stephen White writes the same type book, only Alex Delaware is a phycologist located in Bolder, Colorado.

Have all James Pattersons.  They are my Christmas present every year.  His short chapters keep you so interested and he weaves the characters in and out like no one else can!

I've read the 1st 6 of the Women's Murder Series. A couple of my favorite books by him are:

Honeymoon

Judge and Jury

The Quickie was OK.

You've Been Warned.

The newest ones it seemed he cranked out too fast, but I really enjoy his writing. It is also very easy to put the book down at a moments notice with chapters only a couple of pages long.

You can add me as another first time reader of James Patterson and really like his books.  I don't know why I didn't pick them up before now though.  I got started on the Women's muder series with book number six and now I'm trying to work my way up through the series.  I really liked the Kay Scarpetta series from Patricia Cornwell, but James Patterson is no where near the graphic nature of her books as far as the gore.

If you are a James Patterson fan, you might also try Jeffrey Deaver.  I find his to be similar.  Similar to the Alex Cross stlye, not so much similar to the Letter for Nicholaus style...

Dena,

Jeffrey Deaver is one of my favorites. Have just finished THE TWELFTH CARD. THE COLD MOON is on my TBR list.

Want to read all books written by Greg Iles. He is fantastic.  Many are on my Bookshelf. Really enjoy them.

When I read your profile, I thought, "Wow, I could have written that." with a few differences of course. My profile is not yet posted. Hope to have it done soon.

Any tricks on Clutter Busting would be greatly appreciated. We have a cat. Would love to have a dog, but ....

PM me.

Clara

I have a ton of James Patterson books that I would like to get rid of. If anyone wants some of them I'll do a 2 for 1 deal. I think I have a couple of hardcovers but mostly paperback. I had started collecting them then decided not to so I have a bunch of them that I want to get rid of now LOL His books are very good. I also like Jeffrey Deaver and Michael Connelly.

My husband and I read all the Patterson mysteries. My husband really enjoys the short chapters. Some of his latest books seem thrown together quickly.

I like the Alex Cross books and have read all of them.  The Women's Murder Club books, aren't my faves but I will read one in a pinch if I really need something to read.

I haven't read any of his others, but might give them a try.

I TRY TO read each new one as they come out. Am way behind because there are so many books that I want to read. I need to switch authors and/or genres every so often in order not to burnout on one.

Started Honeymoon today.
