This was an unusual cross-class romance between a male pianist and a society girl. I had no idea what was going to happen until the last few pages (which is highly unusual for a novel of this type) and it had a satisfying ending. The hero wasn't drawn very deeply but he behaved in a believable manner. An easy, enjoyable two-hour read!

Copyright 1976. When Daphne left her family's country estate at Verchamp Park for the season in London, it was certainly with no anticipation of romance. In a natural and quiet way, she fell in love with Christian Livingston--a man who was certainly not good ton. He wasn't ton at all. -- The nice thing about Daphne is that she doesn't go and make stupid decisions just because everyone says she should. I like the fact that she follows her heart and her brain.
