Terrible. This book is too short, not researched, full of anachronisms, and unsatisfying. What sheltered English miss in the early 1800s even knew what a viper was, let alone compared it to her betrothed's mistress' smile? All the characters are caricatures, the plot is weak and tired, and why, oh why, do Kristina Cook's HISTORICALS all have contemporary or cartoonish covers? Maybe I shouldn't have posted this, because now no one will want to take the book off my hands.
This is the prequel to "Unlaced", "Undressed" and "Unveiled" even though it was published more recently. I think the writing is a little uneven but still worth reading. I enjoyed reading them in order but this one can stand alone.
Good Read
