Helpful Score: 1
An early work by an author that has since moved up in the publishing world. This is an extremely hot novel about two flawed individuals who were drawn together by the ghost of an ancestor. While the book has has some faults, such as a slow start and a small-press editor, the story holds together yielding a very satisfactory ending. There are well drawn main characters, and a number of secondary characters that add to the story. The dialog is good and the action scenes are very well done. While claiming to be a paranormal romance, the book has a mystery element which broadens the appeal.
I rated the book a 4, with 3 for mechanics and 5 for story.
Oliver's most recent work, Sojourn, corrects the flaws and is thoroughly engaging reading.
