Flan Flood has gone out of her way to plan an amazing spring break to Paris with her friends and her boyfriend. She's even created a huge notebook containing recommendations, reservations, and any other possible information they could possibly require.

But when a compromising photo of her boyfriend, Alex, shows up on her enemy Kennedy's cell phone, Flan backs out of the trip and relies on her family to get her over her broken heart.

Soon, Flan is jet-setting to three other continents in an attempt to get over Alex. She spends idyllic time on an Italian beach with her parents. She visits sister February at a rice field in Thailand. And finally she flies to Australia to be with Patch, as well as her best friend SBB.

But none of the exotic locales can remove the ache that is Alex. It isn't until Flan returns home and receives surprising news from SBB that she discovers that what she thought may be false.

LUCKY BREAK was a nice change from the INSIDE GIRL series because, for once, there is more of an emphasis on Flan's crazy family. The book focuses more on Flan and her family than the extravagant lifestyle in New York City that most of the series relies on. Don't get me wrong, the entire series is fun, but LUCKY BREAK was a different look at Flan and her family.

For fans of the INSIDE GIRL series, LUCKY BREAK does not disappoint. And those new to the series will be able to easily pick up and understand Flan and her social network.
