This is such a strange book. I found it when I was really young at the library when they had a display of seasonal books.
Part of me loved the adventure Lucy had, but part of me is really creeped out by the fact that the whole book is about her being kidnapped and then returned. She never really says "hey I was kidnapped, let me tell you about that." so when I was younger I didn't think of it that way. For years, though, the book stuck with me and kept bothering me, and I finally realize the kidnapping is why. Strange book. But it stuck with me this long. It has really pretty illustrations.
