Andrew, a judge, and Lydia Fitzsimons murder Annie Doyle, a drug-addicted prostitute, and bury her in their garden. Andrew begins to fall apart and Lydia becomes ever more determined to protect their social standing and their son, Laurence. But Laurence is not as innocent as his mother thinks. He's obsessed with the dead girl's family. This has the makings of a Hitchcock thriller. Need to read another book by Liz Nugent. You need to read this!

The story started off strong, but the mystery was revealed far too early. The rest of the book was just annoying people deceiving each other.

This is a hard one to review

I'd like to say I didn't like it but yet I thought it was okay, the only thing was that after the half mark it just seemed to move very slow and I did skim a lot of pages and didn't miss anything

but the ending threw me for a loop--I really wasn't expecting that kind of ending so that's why I'm giving it the extra 1/2 star to make 3 1/2 stars instead of just 3--if that makes sense
