Well this has truly been an experience.

Out of the blue I received a PM from a member offering to RAOK me something from here or my Amazon wishlist. I didn't recognize the name, so I PM'd back asking if I'd saved them and their family from a fiery UFO crash or something and had merely forgotten, since that happens so often? -- but no, as AOK's go, it was truly R. Well, I'm only human, despite my fiery-UFO-crash-family-rescue abilities, so I relented/consented and sent the member my Amazon pile o' desire. Now it gets interesting.

The List was pretty standard, books and CDs and DVDs and such. I wrote that if something was to show up at my door from said List, I would find a way to handle the shame and humiliation. The sun set & the moon rose a few times, and then a package arrived at my door. Inside it was a gift note from the member, which was sweet, but under the note was the one thing on the List that I truly wanted the most, deep down. How did they know? How did they peel their way through layers of Vostromo to figure this out? I still don't get it. But I have to say I'm impressed, and I'm not easily impressed, unless you count lj-florida's "winning" entry in the Twist On Movie Game thread, because let's face it, that was damn impressive. But I digress.

This is meant solely as a hosanna to someone I've never met, never spoken to, but who seems to be quite special in her own way, whatever that way actually is. Like most mysteries, the unknown is the best part. So here's to you: thank you, rissycloud, for truly making an AOK not only R but M. That's meaningful.

I'll pay it forward as best I can.
