I heard at my PO (just overheard it, did not have discussion about it) that there will now be an annual increase every May.

Perhaps one of our kindly PO employess could verify or deny?

I'm not a USPS employee, but you are correct Beth.  I read that on the USPS site.  If I can find the link, I'll add it.

ETA:  Ah, here it is.  The USPS website sez:  "Consistent with The Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act, we will adjust our mailing services prices each May. By law, these prices can increase on average no more than the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index. We plan to provide 90 days' notice of the new prices each year, to help mailers prepare for the change."

Here's the link: http://www.usps.com/prices/

Postage is consistently going up at far less than the rate of inflation. The same cannot be said for postal workers pay. I'm taking home about 3% more than I did 10 years ago.

Quite honestly considering gas prices I think we're getting a pretty good deal! I think it kind of stinks for the post office that they can only raise prices based on general inflation considering gas prices are going up WAY faster than standard inflation rates!
