I was given this book, and it has been sitting on my shelf for a long time. I didn't think I'd like it much (I usually prefer historicals), but I decided to read it after reading others' reviews here and all I can say is "Wow!" Really, really good book! I couldn't put it down and finished it in a bit more than a day.
Nora Roberts is delightful to read, and I especially like her series books so readers are able to get to know additional characters in depth. This book completed the stories of the youngest two McKade brothers. I've read books about 4 McKade brothers and I eagerly await additions to the series.
Great book. I actually enjoyed this second better than the first and of course Shane was my favorite. If only everyone had a Shane in their life. But if that's the case then Nora Roberts would be out of a job. Who would bother with reading.
Devin and Shane - the younger brothers of Rafe and Jared. Oh - Do I ever wish I could have been one of the 4 women who captured these guys !!!Wonderfully romantic tale of the "Younger Mackade Brothers." Easy Reads - Great Stories !!!
The Return of Rafe MacKade
Ten years later and the bad boy of the bunch had returned home. Appealing as ever, not even lovely Regan Jones, the town's reserved antiques dealer, was immune to Rafe MacKade. Regan claimed her plans didn't include relationships with rebels, but her reaction to The Return of Rafe MacKade and his sizzling kisses said something quite different.
The Pride of Jared MacKade
Attorney Jared MacKade had his pick of women. His dealings with Savannah Morningstar were strictly business, but thoughts of the outrageous, direct and sinfully sexy woman kept him coming back for more. With Savannah's incendiary attitude, plus The Pride of Jared MacKade, something good or bad was bound to erupt.
Sheriff Devin MacKade watched - patiently, painfully - as the woman he secretly cherished suffered through a less-than-perfect marriage. Now pretty Cassie Connor was free...but vulnerable. Devin knew he'd have to tread slowly, all the while wondering if The Heart of Devin MacKade could ever claim the women he loved.
The youngest MacKade, Shane, was a man of the land, so the last woman he expected to catch his eye was a Ph.D.-toting academic. But Rebecca Knight had caught much more than that. One beautiful lady didn't mean The Fall of Shane MacKade from bachelorhood was a sure thing. But it was definitely a possibility....
Devin and Shane's stories are the best of the MacKade quartet. I especially liked Devin's story. I think the love and dedication he expressed for Cassie was beyond romantic. His relationship with the children was so sweet, it was another story in itself. I've read their story several times. I just can't get enough of a strong man putting everything on the line to win his love.
