I've been using the app on the iPhone but decided a larger screen would be better on my aging eyes wink

Congrats! I love mine. Wish that one with offers on it had been available when I got mine!

Ok - I admit it when I'm wrong (don't tell hubby!) smiley  It's amazing!  I didn't realize it had text-to-speech and a web browser.  I can't wait until we can get the library books on loan.  I'm in so much trouble.  I was so adamant against any e-reader.  I'd shake my head at them when I went to Borders.  I just wish I could share them after I'm done.  That's my only gripe since I don't keep books.

Thanks to everyone who's posted about their e-readers and helped encourage me to get one!!

It's killing me, there was an Amazon package delivered today.  When I opened it - a kindle!  I am trying to save opening it until Mothers Day.  I didn't think I wanted one but I do.

Can we trade the ebooks somehow???

If you have a "loanable" ebook from Amazon, you can loan those to other's who have a Kindle or the Kindle App. You can tell if an eBook is lendable by going to Amazon and checking the page for that book. It will say "Lendable" in the book details, or have the "Loan" information at the top of the page. You click the 'loan' button and enter the other person's kindle address. It'll then send them the loan offer, and they can accept. The book will then be locked on your shelf and appear on their shelf for reading for two weeks. You both can't read it at the same time.

People sharing accounts can share books. That I don't know how to do, as I have no one at home to share with.

But sharing books not listed as 'lendable' between people not on the same account is illegal. So be careful of getting involved in anything like that. And be careful of 'membership' sites where they say you can download an unlimited amount of eBooks for a monthly fee. Those are illegal and scamming people. Really research where you get your ebooks from. There's lots of pirated books floating around, and you don't want to leave a record anywhere of having bought any, or done any trading in them.
