I thought this book was pretty good, and it was overall a fun and fast read. The book was about a young American man who buys land in France and falls in love with an older woman. I am not usually a fan of books written in this style via letters, however I really liked Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern, which was written in the same format. I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the book during which Tim described France in such vivid detail that I could almost taste it! I thought Conrad's narrative of France through Tim was almost better than some books I've read from the travel genre itself. The second half of the book bored me because it was mostly about France's point of view regarding the morals behind Tim and Catherine's relationship and marriage. This particular content has been worn thin with me, especially since my own mother is married to a much younger man as well! I was also expecting more of a surprising ending from this book but I was disappointed.
