This was a marvelous, gripping novel. It was quite different from other fantasies I've read--different kinds of characters and situations. I'm searching very hard for the rest of them in the "A Man of his Word" series. Dave Duncan is an outstanding writer!

Awesome book...first book I've read by Mr. Duncan. Great character development (which I love), adventure, magic, romance, evil...all the elements for a great fantasy series! I'm a huge fan of Robin Hobb's Farseer/Tawny Man series and Magic Casement is right up there! I think you'll enjoy it immensely.

Good fantasy with some surprises if you stick through the whole trilogy. Heroine is a bit young at beginning, but gets better.
