Finally tracked down a copy of this book after reading ahead a few books so I had a notion of what was happening but not the murderer. Guessed it before it was revealed as I was looking for clues. This series is fun and entertaining. Already have placed my pre-order for the one coming out this fall. Can't wait to read more about the characters who have become like friends.

It was the oddest thing. The young maid was disovered dead in the bath with a stocking tied around her neck-and one shoe missing! And when a second maid and then a third are also found dead-each missing one shoe, Cecily wants answers. The Pennyfoot as never witnessed such a peculiar crime, and Cecily has no idea where to begin. It's starting to look like the only thing she can do it wait-for the other shoe to drop....
Very fun if you like victorians - which I do. I alsmost didn't figure it out!
