Due to the volcanic ash and no flights withing Europe/Transalantic - I would expect that the mail is being delayed also..................

I've been waiting on something from Ireland for over 3 weeks and usually it takes about 10 days.

Since the majority of mail is now flown, I would say to expect delays both in receiving and sending mail to Europe and any other countries affected by the ash, like Greenland and Iceland.  It is just too risky to fly right now with the sky full of ash.  They may be resorting to sending all mail by boat, but I could not say for sure.  If they do, it will take much longer than normal for airmail to get where it is going.

Members ordering from the Book Depository (England) have been reporting delays due to the ash situation.

I've noticed that I haven't gotten as many penpal letters since all this has been going on... I imagine some of them may be delayed due to this as well.
