Has there been a delay in getting mail through the midwest? I am having a long wait in recieving things from the east coast to tthe west coast. anything from letters, ebay items, and most importantly my pbs books. I was just wondering if anyone else is having that difficulty right now. Or is it from something else.  I AM NOT COMPLAINING. I am just curious.

My mail seems to be running slow this week too.  Cross country stuff - East to West, yeah now that you mention it.  Mostly PBS stuff, but I haven't ordered anything from anywhere else recently.

I'm in the midwest and the flooding is gone in our area.  I can't imagine that would have anything to do with it.   I did get a package from Ebay this week and it only took two days from Arizona.

I'm on the East coast and it took almost 3 weeks to get an order from the west coast.  It was post dated the day the PBS member said they mailed it it just took 3 weeks to get here.  I mailed out a book to a person in Arizona on 7/3 and they still have not received it.   So I don't know what's up with that!

I just got a PBS book from NC and it took awhile--long enough for the PBS librarian to send me the "have you received this book?" email and I hardly ever get one of those!

I'm in the west and it seems like my books are taking awhile to reach the members but I seem to be getting mind from the east just fine. I didn't think about Mother Nature being a factor.

Maybe there's something else going on that's slowing it up.  I have several things that I mailed as far back as the 4th to places like TX and OR (I'm in KY) and they still haven't been delivered.  That seems a bit slower than usual to me.

I've mailed something to Alaska (to someone I know) almost a month ago that still hasn't gotten there!  It must be all over.

I work part time for the USPS as a rural mail carrier, i can tell you that for a while our mail trucks were having a very difficult time trying to get to and from the mail processing plants because of heavily flooded streets in our area and many highways and roads were shut down. That is over with now, but it's possible that they are backlogged with extra bulk mail and media mail that is getting pushed aside to make sure the 1st class mail is sent out?

I noticed that things have been taking longer than usual - I'm in a game swap and I mailed the books on 7/5 and the person hasn't still received them...

I also recently lost a book in the mail and got one damaged - the package came open and all.

i've got a WL book coming to me that was marked mailed from TX on 6/27 and hasn't yet arrived.  the multi-book order from TX that was shipped last week has already arrived.

My mail is incredibly slow as well. I have ordered books from KIm for decades and still have not received them. Supposedly, they arrived in my city this morning but I still have not gotten them.

You know, I've been keeping an eye on yours, June, and I've been thinking the same thing.  Those are the ones I was talking about that went out on the 4th, and then some others that I sent out the same day finally just arrived today.  Grace's books seemed like they took a while longer than usual to get to her too - she got hers last night and they went out on the 8th or 9th.  Not as bad as this shipment, but none of mine going west seem to be in any hurry to get where they're going.  The stuff I've ordered seems to be moving slow too.

I think it really just varies and depends on how much mail your mail center has that day. Media mail is lowest priority, I believe. I have gotten some pdq (pretty damn quick) and others have been really pokey. I haven't tried to trend it though, so I can't say if it is an east-west issue or due to mother nature, or what....
