Has anyone ever encountered this issue when setting up or chainging your Mail To Address?  I am trying to change my address from Pennsylvania to an FPO, AE address, and I keep getting this error message and I don't know what I can do?

"We were unable to validate the address with the USPS. Please check the address for correctness."

I'm in Sicily with my hubby since he is working out here, so I was hoping I could still get books shipped to to his base address.  What can I do?  I need books in english to read while i'm here!  LOL!

Ciao!

Lori Smith

Lori - go to www.usps.com and click on Find a ZIP Code. Enter your address there and click submit. You should see the message "Full Address in Standard Format", and you can copy and paste the address that appears underneath it into your account.

If you don't see the "Full Address in Standard Format" heading, you'll need to work with your military postmaster. He or she may be able to tell you the exact address that USPS knows, or if there isn't one, then he should know how to submit the info so that the USPS database gets updated.

If you aren't able to get a valid version of your address, do you have a friend or family member stateside who would let you use his or her address, tell you which books had arrived so you could mark them received and then resend them to you?

That's interesting Cathy (about USPS).  But if using a c/o addy, the op will want to be careful.  The receiver can loose the option to RWAP.

I was thinking she would change her account address to her friend's address and have the books sent there. Then the friend could bundle them together every so often and send them to her FPO address. She could still RWAP them, but the friend has to tell her there's a problem so she'll know to do that. She can't use the FPO address as an alt address, because even alt addresses have to be validated by USPS.

You can't use printable postage (via PBS and Endicia anyway) with an address that doesn't appear in the USPS database, so PBS has made that a requirement.

Thank you all for your help!  Turns out that my address is is not listed in the database, so I'll need to see about getting it added in.  Bummer for me though, I was hoping to get some books here soon!  Oh well.

Thanks again!

Lori
