I didn't care for the Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance. From what I read, several of the stories didn't strike me as romances and some of them felt more like the first chapter of the author's next novel, intead of a story in it's own right. I read about half the stories before giving up. |

It actually came out last month. I got it from Half.Com on March 9th. Have you started reading it? Is it any good? I just got a Border's coupon emailed to me, so I'm thinking I might pick it up... with a few other goods to boot :) |

I thought Vamp Romance was only OK. Maybe, I think I had high expectations for it, so that might have been part of it. Some stories were good, I thought, but some I just skimmed through, and I wouldn't have called it a romance either. Overall, I grade it about a "C". Mammoth Book of Vamp Romance was a lot of short stories, some of them very short. In the middle of the book, I took a break of several weeks and came back to it later. Most of the stories were very "pg"...kiss and fade to black stuff. Bunches of stories by authors I was unfamiliar with (english?) and a bunch by familiar authors (several favorites).
