Pulp Fiction? A lowly form of writing? No,No,No ! maybe the magazines used pulp paper but the stories inside those magazines is the birth place for all crime, mystery, horror, detective, police,FBI fictions read and watched on screen today. In the thirties, forties and fifties up to 1964 carried radio shows of all these genres. And from those decades came the writers of classic fiction that still sets a benchmark for today. Writers like;Dashiel Hammett,Ed MvBain,Erle Stanley Gardner,Raymond Chandler,John D. MacDonald, Lawrence Block, Ross Macdonald,Mickey Spillane, Robert Bloch,etc.,etc.
So, what is 'Pulp Fiction' ! Damn good writing with stories the have a beginning, middle and end that keeps the reader hooked, as then as it is now. The stories in the Mammoth Book of Pulp Fiction are great reads from the best of over seventy decades. Stories that deliver some of the best entertainment in short stories you can read. So enjoy some of the best writers of the past and some still putting out great reading. A must read for mystery buffs.
