This is part of a very unusual series (can be read as a stand-alone). It is set in 1909 in British-ruled Cairo. There is a terrific amount of atmosphere in the book. Lots of authentic background and politics. This is a vastly different world from today with different rules. Interesting mystery involving a British officer and a series of violent incidents that has Cairo in an uproar.
