This book is Carl Hiaasen in LaLa Land. Okay, it dosn't have alligators and fake Virgin Marys, but it has a cast of characters so unique and memorable, that Hiaasen comes to mind immediately. You're not sure who to root for since almost everyone seems to have at least a touch of larceny if not murder on their mind, and often on their rap sheet. What a wild read!

Making movies is Ronnie Deal's business. But after a really bad day at the office, she needs to unleash a little well-placed rage. That's when her beer bottle connects with a street psycho's thick skull. Unfortunately Neon Polk survives. And revenge is his business.

Ronnie's bought more trouble than she can afford. And as the bodies pile up there's only one thing that can keep her alive. It's called the killer instinct. After all, this is Hollywood.
