This was written in 1933 at a time that noone even thought about the rampart waste of oil and coal or ecology. It give a fasinating view of a man's quest for what earth's civilization would be like in the far-off future. In the 1950's he uses his own method of hibernation to wake at various times in the future at 5,000 years intervals.
At each wakening of every 5000 years,he is agast at what man has become and the life they lead.Finlly at 25,000 years he discovers what he has been searching for.
