I view this as another misfire from the author. I've enjoyed a lot of his books, but found this one a bit tiresome. The heroine -- a naive sheltered young woman -- acts like a woman-of-the-world when she first meets the hero which made me wrongly think it was a key plot point. The plot is a bit too contrived even for someone like me that enjoys impossible crimes. It all seems too forced.
