This book said it was Jennifer Crusie's first published book. What way to start!! I have read a couple of other books by her and this one didn't disappoint either. Very funny! I laughed out loud in parts. Very good book. Nice summer read.

Similar to other Jennifer Crusie books. Great character development and good foundation for the impending relationship. I read this one in one night. Small size book with generously spaced type.

A light predictable read but enjoyable nonetheless. Sometimes I like to read something that I don't have to give a lot of thought to and I want to read a book that just makes me feel good, Manhunting filled that need. We should all have a Jake in our lives at least once! LOL.

This book is very funny. The main character cracked me up every time she would interact with the handy man or the situations she would get herself into while at the resort on her mancation. It's a cheesy feel good story with a happily ever after ending. It gets your mind off of real life. This book was my first by this author. I have purchased and read almost all of her books. I highly recommend anything by this author.

I hesitated to read this book because it was pink. Not just pink, but PINK! That, and the fact that the lead woman was an executive with her hair in a tight bun and who shows up to the Cabins in a silk suit just turns me off. But, she wasn't like Nora Roberts' executive characters' cold, but just had a slight air of superiority.
I loved how Kate and Jack were surprised by their feelings for one another; I loved how everyone else knew before them. My only real issue with her was that she wanted him to be more ambitious, and I don't like when people try to change others, especially potential mates.
I'll definitely pick up another Jennifer Crusie book in the future; this was cute and fun (especially with her other dates' disasters!)

Crusie's debut novel showed the sassy attitude, snappy dialogue, and sheer exuberance of her later chick-lit work. Her uptight career girl who goes trolling for the "perfect man" at a Kentucky golf resort doesn't end up the way she thought it would ⦠or does it?
Light reading. Makes you smile.
This book is ok, but nothing special.
On the spur of the moment, successful NY stockbroker Alexandra Scott swaps her $400,000 condo for a shack and tackle shop in Alaska to find a husband. Yes she ups and moves because the man-to-woman ratio is unbelievable. (I know this because I've thought of doing the same thing but common sense keeps stopping me.) Well our TSTL heroine seems to be lacking common sense. I found it hard to reconcile the powerful vice president with the woman who arrives in Alaska. I swear she must have stopped and had a lobotomy on the way.
But I really liked Casey. He's seriously sexy and very laid-back, a typical west coast attitude. He's your average guy looking to get laid but of course, not looking to settle down and cohabitate. He has good intentions and really tries to help Alex out. Casey is instantly smitten and dons the shining armor to rescue the damsel in distress...repeatedly.
I did like this book even though Alex got on my nerves. I'm very independent and I just can't stand the wimpy female who can't do anything for fear of breaking a nail. What the heck is Alex doing in Alaska anyway? Oh yes, the man hunt...a very worthy cause but once you catch that great Alaskan, you do realize you're stuck in Alaska right?
I did get one very important thing from this book - when I move to Alaska I need to leave the designer clothes and expensive heels behind. Also I need to trade my shiny red sports car in for a more sturdy model...like a giant SUV.
