Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 Lb. - Ground Turkey
  • 1 1/2 cup - Diced onion
  • 3/4 cup - diced green pepper
  • 1 clove - Minced Garlic
  • 1 -8 oz- Can - Diced Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup - Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup - BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. - Fresh Ground pepper
  • Optional 8 oz bag - Low-Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese
Directions
  • Brown Turkey,  1/2 cup diced onion, green pepper, minced garlic and black pepper together till brown.
  • Slowly add: Diced tomatoes, ketchup and BBQ sauce, reduce to moderate heat. Mix well. Cover.
  • Stir frequently to avoid sticking.
  • Simmer 20 minutes till peppers are tender. *Covered*

Serve over Hamburger buns (with optional cheese, rest of the onions and spicey brown mustard)*****

 

Serve with: Sweet Potato fries,  Kosher green pickles and sliced peaches for desert.

*This is dedicated to my mom who has cancer and made this meal for many hungry majorettes, football and basketball players*

 

She made it up before they had "other convenient sloppy joes* and we loved it! It was my favorite after sports as a youngster!
