I know I've posted this complaint before and it's a pet peeve of mine. Does anyone else ever have a problem with members not marking books received and won't answer messages you send them asking if they've received the books? I always make it a point to reply to any message that is asking me a question and most that don't. I do realize that people get busy, get sick, or have other problems but the person I'm speaking of has been ignoring me for nearly a month. Maybe I'm just being a grumpy old lady but what do you guys think? Brenda Last Edited on: 2/9/09 6:59 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Are you PMing people before the lost date? Are you sure they go the books. I know I would be annoyed if someone PM'd me to mark a book received if it was quite a ways from going lost and I hadn't received it yet. How long are you giving them to respond to PMs? Some people have limited internet access and cant' get on everyday. If you used DC that doesn't mean it was delivered. I have a book enroute to me that went lost recently. The DC shows that it was scanned at my local PO on 1/8 but I haven't gotten the book. I went to the PO and it's not there either. If the person has gone inactive then the system will automatically mark the book received for you. I don't know what criteria they use to figure this out though. My guess is if they haven't logged in for a week or two and they are not on vacation hold then it'll mark the book received. |

I had one of those...marked it received several weeks after it went lost with a message thanking me for the book and telling me how much she enjoyed it -- was under the impression that she had to READ the book before marking it received... Oh well, it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round! |
