I received a deal from a user (5 books for 3 credits - all part of the same series). One of the books I received has a yellow stain the size of a quarter on the very first page (after turning the cover). I am not happy about that... Should I mark RWAP or should I just let it be since I got a deal on the books?

Did you actually order that specific book through the system, from her bookshelf?

The only books that can be marked RWAP are the ones that you actually ordered. Any free books cannot be marked RWAP, unfortunately.

As to whether or not you should mark it RWAP (if it is a book that you actually ordered and not one of the others) when you get a deal .... what I would do in that situation  is mark it RWAP so that the sender is notified that the book was unpostable, however, I would not ask for a credit back since I got the deal in the first place.

For me, it also depends on whether or not the sender is a newer member, I might just send a PM (instead of marking a RWAP) to a newer member letting them know to be more careful about checking their books before mailing them, if its a member who has been around and ought to know better, then I'm more likely to RWAP.

Yes, the one that has the problem is one of the books actually ordered (in my transaction archive).

If it were me, I'd let it go.  A quarter sized stain on one page wouldn't bother me at all, especially since I got a 5 for 3 deal.  But that's just me.

I don't think you should let it go.  A "5 for 3 Deal" means--5 postable books for 3 credits.  A "4 books plus 1 unpostable for 3 credits" is a different, somewhat less desirable deal, and should be advertised as such.

Is the stain on the flyleaf?  It is postable without that page, you can remove that page and repost.  I wouldn't mark it RWAP if it is only one stain on the flyleaf.

The member has been around since 2008, so they aren't a newbie. The stain shows a little on the back of the cover as well. On this book, the first page in not the fly leaf. It's the Title Page.

All the books came from the member's bookshelf, so all the books should be postable. If they had an unpostable book posted, and you ordered it (regardless of deal) it should be noted as such, that there -was- actually a problem with a book received from that member's bookshelf...  You are only noting the truth and history of the transaction after all. A book was Received With A Problem.
