Been a member for a while now and have had great success in swapping books..... but I do have one gripe... PLEASE do not mark the book as mailed until it is actually mailed. If you can't get it in the mail by date you said you could just let me know. This has happened to me twice now. The person sending the book marks it mailed and it is shifted to the ENROUTE TO YOU tab. In both cases the person has contacted me after a week or two to let me know that it didn't get mailed and they will send it soon... Then I end up in limbo a little bit longer. Eventually they just cancel on me and then I get back on the wish list... Not a big deal but I have probably missed an opportunity to receive the book from someone else who will actually mail it, and it means that my credit was tied up in the book that didn't get mailed for a couple weeks. I know things happen that we can't control sometimes - but please don't mark the book mailed when it hasn't been. Thanks!!!!!! |

PBS is very clear about this. We are required to mail the book within 4 days. After that, the sender can get in trouble. Please feel free to report PMs about late mailings to PBS. Leaving you in limbo is not okay. Yea, life happens. Then apologies should happen. |

I have had a couple bad swaps recently where they marked them mailed, then never mailed them! they went lost and my acct still shows "was book received?" in the transaction log. It irritated me cause I was concerned that this reflects badly upon my membership--- like someone could accuse me of receiving books but pretending they never got here so I could get a free book. As Emily said, the rules state that it must be sent within 4 days of marking it mailed. Please do report it, if you discover the person is not doing so. |
