Hi!

I have a passion for improving my marriage and becoming a better wife.  I realize way too often I tend to 'coast' in this area and take my dh for granted.  I find reading a good book on marriage helps me to keep my focus on being what I should be .  So with that said I want to build a library of good Christian books on all aspects of marriage so that I can always have one on the go as well as loan out to friends.  So I'm looking for recommendations.  Of course if I can find them here, that would be great, but I'm willing to actually buy a really good one!

Here's a list of ones I've read to get the recommendations started:

Sheet Music - Kevin Leman (one of my favorites on intimacy)

Intimate Issues - Linda Dillow and Lorraine Pintus  (also excellent on that subject)

The Excellent Wife - Martha Peace

Feminine Appeal - Carolyn Mahaney and Nancy Leigh Demoss  (excellent book!)

The Power of a Praying Wife - Stormie Omartian

The Act of Marriage - Tim LaHaye

For Women Only - Shaunti Feldhahn (there is a companion also for men by Jeff Feldhahn)

Love and Respect - Emerson Eggerichs

I just ordered Red Hot Monogamy by Bill Farrel and Pam Farrel  (can't wait  ;-)

Those are the main ones off the top of my head.  Let's get the recommendations rolling and help each other be better wives (I realize there are men on here - but you are in the minority - sorry!).

Blessings!

I would recommend HELP ME, I'M MARRIED  by Joyce Meyer. It is on my keeper shelf.

I recently read Becoming the Woman of His Dreams by Sharon Jaynes, and I really enjoyed it.

My favorite is Each for the Other by Bryan Chapell.  It paints a beautiful, practical picture of what it means to live out a Biblical marraige.

I know many don't like this one, but DH and I really got alot of good from Men Are from Mars, Women are from Venus by John Gray.  And also His Needs Her Needs was a good one for us.  We read them at the beginning of our marriage (before kids!) and still use mny of the principles to this day!

Marriage and Divorce by J. Vernon McGee. Note that only two chapters of this book cover divorce, the rest is about keeping a Biblical marriage.

This is the best by far and I have read many.

Hidden Keys of a Loving Lasting Marriage by Gary Smalley.
