From the cover: Marriage by Design. Her sign proclaimed it as one of a number of services procurable through Miss Coady BLake, but there as nothing illicit in what it offered. All a prospective husband had to do was obtain a bride - Coady would take care of the wedding details. BUt it was difficult to purchase luxuries in the Yukon Territory, 1898, and Coady charged accordingly. And when the handsome Stone MacGregor appeared and cried foul of her little operation, Coady found herself desiring more than just his investigation.

After hearing several suspicions about Coady's business ethics, Northwest Mounted Police officer Stone MacGregor took it upon himself to search out the crafty huckster. Instead, the inspector found a willful beauty who thought she knew the worth of every item - and he found himself thinking that the proprietress herself was far beyond price.

Coady Blake was a very independent woman of the 90's... the 1890's that is... she ran her own business and needed nobody...or so she thought! She was very good at "arranging" marriages for others in the Yukon Territory, but had no intention of arranging one of her own. She was totally unprepared for handsome Stone MacGregor to walk into her life as an undercover Northwest Mounted Policeman investigating her "shoddy" business practices. Coady has secrets she doesn't want uncovered, but... NOT what Stone is trying to uncover and when Coady finds out what he's looking for, she is totally devistated and "needs" to set things right.
Coady and Stone run into one mishap after another in their dealings together, but the most adventurous mishap is falling in love...with each other!
