Does anyone remember the Hot Shoppes? It was such a treat when my mom or grandma would take me there as a kid. History buffs will recall that the Hot Shoppes were founded by J. Willard Marriott, who changed the hospitality industry in America. Some family members have included prefaces and a bit of history and behind the scenes on how the Hot Shoppes really took off.
Mouth watering recipes include their famous Orange Freeze, Rum Buns, Barbeque, Mighty Mo, Monterey Jack Vegetable Bake, Bread and Butter Pudding, and their sought after Strawberry Glaze.
The publishers have given the hardback book an antiqued appearance and plenty of pictures throughout it's glossy pages.

As a person who grew up eating at the Hot Shoppes with my friends, I loved this book. All our favorite recipes were there, such as the gravy recipe for french fries and gravy and also the milk shake recipe. Just reading thru the recipes brought back all the old memories about my teenage days. Although many (probably most) of the recipes don't go with today's lighter eating habits, its fun to fix something from the past and enjoy every bite.
