Hi Everyone

I got a $15 Barnes and Noble gift card in a gift exchange this week (yay!) so I'm trying to decide which of my wishlist books to buy.  I've been very drawn to Mary Queen of Scots recently (for some inexplicable reason) and I'm trying to decide between Margaret George's book about her and Jean Plaidy.  I'm reading another Margaret George book now that I'm enjoying and I know that people here seem to love Plaidy.  For those who have read either (or both), I would really appreciate any imput.  Thanks!

Well based on the sheer size of the thing, you're probably not going to be able to get the Margaret George book for $15.  I have it in my TBR but haven't gotten to read it yet.  So I'd suggest getting the Jean Plaidy with your gift card, and putting the other on your wishlist here.

I like Jean Plaidy, but I have been reading Royal Road to Fortheringway by Jean Plaidy about Mary Queen of Scots and I just can't get into it.

If you have a B&N membership the price is $15.25.  I haven't read the Plaidy books about MQoS but I have read the Margaret George one and really liked it.

I'm pretty sure I've either read the George or Fraser about her, and it was really good.

Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles by Margaret George is an excellent book. I vote for that one.

I second that. It is an awesome book. HUGE and awesome. Buy that one and WL the Plaidy. Chances are you'll get that eventually here (I know I have a copy and will get to it pretty soon....)
