I found this book disjointed and hard to follow. It seemed to jump around( I even checked to make sure I hadn't turned 2 pages). Ms. James didn't seem to understand the laws of inheritance AT ALL for the time. The heroine seemed to spend the entire book feeling/thinking one thing and doing something else. Overall, I skipped ahead to find out the denouement and was happy to 'be done'. Would not recommend this book. Try something else of hers.

I enjoyed the book. The twists and turns in the plot kept me interested. Ms. James has not disappointed me in any of her books that I have read. I would recommend for a good read.
