I don't usually post in this forum, but there are somethings I wanted to share. When my sister was in 2nd-5th grades, math gave her no end of fits. It literally made her cry. Now she has a Master's Degree in Math and Statistics and teaches math at a junior college near Sacramento, CA. There is always hope for youngsters that don't get math!

I would also like to mention a resource that homeschoolers may want to use for 7th-10th grade girls that are having trouble with math or don't understand its practicality. The book is titled Math Doesn't Suck. The author is Danica McKellar. Yes, it's the actress that played Winnie on The Wonder Years. She received an advanced  (no sure if it was a Masters or Doctoral) degree and authored a mathematical theorum with her professors. The book explains math with practical examples that would interest girls in junior high and early high school. Most bookstores should carry the title in their Math sections (usually near the science books).
