I'm teaching at the Roseville Community Preschool (www.rosevillecommunitypreschool.org) in northern California. We have one fundraiser a year which is a benefit silent and live auction with a grand prize raffle.  This year one of our families actually donated an eco-friendly  brand new Smart Fortwo Car. Since this will most likely be the only year we have such a cool prize, does anyone know how we can maximize publicity?

Although we are just a preschool, our director, Bev Bos, is well-known and we generally raise quite a bit for our auction from our families and friends. This year we want to reach beyond our community to sell tickets, Our auction is February 21, 2009 so I have a little time to advertise.I am chairing the auction this year. If you need ideas on fundraising, I'll be happy to share any information I've learned. Last year we raised $60,000. We hope to raise a lot more this year, despite the economy, because of the car raffle.  I'd appreciate hearing your ideas.

Have you thought about selling raffle tickets on the net for this item?  You could advertise on Craig's list and some of those sites and direct them where to send the money for a ticket.
