In the near future fertility is at an all-time low and society
is struggling to deal with the consequences.

An entertaining read that seemed to peter out a little at the end, clumsy in spots but enjoyable nontheless.

The environment, cloning, low birth rates...this book has got it all. Interesting characters. Nancy Kress is very good.

OK, I really REALLY liked Kress's "Beggars" trilogy; they were original, well-written, good plots, the works. This one doesn't even come close to them, but is still better than the average book out there.

Just a warning -- I'm not a prude, but a lot of R-rated language and themes, so if you're not into that, you may want to look elsewhere.
