I found this book a good starting point & overview. It offers a wide range of info & resources relating to homeschooling. Can be helpful skimming thru chapters of interest or reading in order. Generous appendices cover topics from individual state law summaries to scope & sequence of content across grade levels, w/additional resource suggestions and web links. Inclusive of all kinds of homeschooling approaches, but does not get into any in depth. You won't find enough info to make a well-informed choice on a specific educational approach nor find highly detailed lesson/unit planning; however, you'll get lots of general ideas and friendly tips.
