Claudia Lester is a blonde with a problem. She needs someone to give a blackmailer fifty thousand dollars and tells Archy he would make the perfect bagman. But then Archy wakes up with a bump on his head he realizes she really meant he was the perfect patsy. The other peerson who wants to find Claudia is Decimus Fortesque, an eccentric Palm Beach character known for his even more eccentric collection habits. He thinks that what Claudia actually has - besides his fifty thousand dollars - is a long-lost work by Truman Capote. Archy has enough problems on his plate. The love of his life has been dining out with an eminently eligible Cuban hunk, while a stunningly sexy policewoman called Georgia has just walked into his world. But when Fortesque offers to fire him to find Claudia, Archy can't resist.
