Audrey W. reviewed In the Meantime : Finding Yourself and the Love You Want on
Helpful Score: 4
Occasionally,I found this book confusing, contradictory, and a little heavyhanded with right-wing religious sentiment. The basic message is affirmation...that you must have dignity for yourself so that weed out individuals who do not honor you with appropriate behavior.
Not religious yet tends that way. Could have been written in a clearer fashion. I like the topics that it covers. There are some real pearls in here. I give this a Cplus to a B if grading it for style. An A for content.
You know where you want to be, but no clue how to get there. You know exactly what you want in life, but what you want is nowhere in sight...on top of it all, your relationships, particularly your romantic relationships, are failing. If these scenarios feelfamiliar way down in the deepest part of your gut-then you, my dear, are smack dab in the middle of the meantime.
This is my personal Bible. I love this book, and everything she writes. She changed my life, and helped me grow up. I go back and read this from time to time when I start to fall off my path. Anyone whos stuck in the meantime, who cant seem to get on the right track, whos in a relationship they dont want- its a great book!
A #1 National Bestseller. #1 New York Times Bestseller. Trade paperback. You know where you want to be, but you have no clue how to get there. On top of it all, your relationships, particularly romantic, are failing. If this sounds familiar, you are smack dab in the middle of meantime! \"Iyanla Vanzant focuses on healing lives and letting people know that somebody cares.\" - Los Angeles Times. I though this was a GREAT BOOK!
