Her heart ached to feel the full measure of love

Nothing in her experience had prepared nurse Samantha Bridges for the situation at Bumping River. The cramped cabin possessed Stone Age facilities, and Sam's two charges were beyond belief: the uglistest dog she'd ever laid eyes on & an unconscious logger who rivaled Paul Bunyan in size. Surveying the scene, Sam knew her life had hit an all-time low, for if the dog didn't attack her, the unsanitary conditions would kill them all....

But the situation would soon go fro bad to worse: Nicholas Joradan was about to regain consciousness.
