I have enjoyed all the books in Snelling's Blessing series. The characters in this series do a good job of weaving their spiritual beliefs in with their everyday lives. When the characters question God's existence or goodness the reader does not get the sense that God is angry because of their doubts in Him. It was heartening to see Astrid's faith grow and to realize that though she may feel as if God is not concerned with her, Astrid still made an effort to seek out the Almighty.

As always I love this family. I love the town of Blessings. I love Lauraine Snelling! This is the first book in this series Home to Blessing. It centers around Astrid, and her journey to become a Dr. She deals with how to know what God's will is for her. She has choices to make and wants to do God's will. This is a question I have always pondered, am I doing God's will? Joshua a new friend of Astrid's deals with forgiveness. Meanwhile we are kept up on all the happinings in Blessing.

This is the first in the series of three books by Lauraine Snelling. She once again writes about the town of Blessing and the Bjorklund family. I have read all three of the books in this series and could not put them down. Astrid was conflicted regarding heading for the mission field in Africa. She is a woman ahead of her times. You will enjoy reading and following her through this series.

I've followed Snelling's series for years now and have yet to be disappointed with any of her novels! "A Measure of Mercy" picks up with Astrid's story... interesting, historical, informative, and a very pleasurable read!
