two weeks after marking it mailed to say some "family issues" have come up and they can't mail after all. What do I do? I don't want it to go "lost" - I want TBTB to know what is really going on here. AND I feel like I should be put back at the front of the WL line, but since they can't cancel the transaction, that isn't going to happen. Grrr....

What should I do?

You can use the 'Contact Us' link in the Help Center to let PBS know what is going on.  In this type of situation, they will probably go ahead and put you back at the front of the wish list line.

Ashley's right.  If you use the Feedback link on the Contact Us page, categorize your message as a Complaint, and explain the situation, I'm sure PBS will be able to do something about it.  You might even want to include a copy-paste of the message you received from the Sender.  Even if it had only been a day after marking it mailed, you would still need this dealt with properly, but two weeks after...sheesh.  Good luck!

If you do wait for it to go lost in the mail, you'll be put back at #1 on the WL.

I had three books (a lot) go lost in the mail a few weeks ago. They were on my WL, and I got put at the end of the line. They didn't have long lines, but still... I don't think it always works that way. Maybe a glitch in the system?

I did use the contact us link - I hope I hear something soon.

I had the same thing happen to a wishlist book I requested - I wonder if we're dealing with the same sender?  I PM'd booth the PBS site and the sender about it, but only a day or two later it went technically "lost in the mail" (even though the sender never actually mailed it at all), so I got my credit and place in line back anyway.

If the line was short it's possible that you weren't 1st in line when those books were posted to you.  There could have been people who were on vaction hold, people who were turned down for conditons before you, pending requests get cancelled, a book marked RWP etc..., Also I think they have to put you af the end of the line at first and them move you up. So if you check now you might be in the top spot.

I agree with Mary...the statement I believe says that you will be placed back in the position you were in prior to having the book offered to you...that doesn't always equal #1.

The sender can't cancel the transaction once it's been marked mailed.

Once it goes lost, you shouldn't be put at the end of the wish list line, but if you find yourself there, contact the Admin Team (click -- don't hover --on the Help Center button and use the "Contact the PBS Team" to send in feedback and ask them to place you back at -- or near -- the front.)
