Hi, I have been looking at swapping more of my books.  I look to see what other members are looking for before I place them on the swap.  Sometimes they may be looking for the same book (ie hard cover/ soft cover) as I have but it may have another ISBN.  Will the members still get notified that I have posted the book that are looking?  Thank you, Becky

Usually, yes.  If the system recognizes the two editions as being the same book, the two will be linked.  When you post your book, an email will go out to members who have other editions wishlisted, informing them that a book "similar to" one they have on their wish list, and giving them a link to your book.  Books that are posted without ISBNs aren't linked to other editions.

If the ISBN you are posting has other copies posted here, then when someone orders the book, the order will go to the member who has been waiting longest to sent the book.  (It's the FIFO system -- first in/first out.)

Be aware that if the only editions wish listed are large print or hardcover, it's likely that the members are waiting for that edition.  If you are posting a paperback, they'll receive the email, but will likely choose to hold out for the edition they want.

Members have the option of receiving notifications for "similar to" wish list items.  If they do get the emails, then it's first come first serve as to who orders the book first.

I do get the notifications because I like to know what books are being posted that are close but not the exact same book I have on my wish list.  You get the email and when you go to the book, it may be there or it may already have been snapped up.
