Sometimes this happens.  You'll order a book and it happens that you get a bunch of inactive members.

When they don't respond they'll get a mark on their account and after a certain amount of inactivity, their account will be put on hold.

members have 5 days to respond to a request for a book. If they do not answer the request after 5 days, the book order automatically rolls over to the next person in line who has the book posted.

if you are cancelling the orders and ordering the same ISBN of the book again, then you are ordering the book from the same person that you just cancelled from, and the 5 day window for them to answer is starting again each time.

Usually it is best to order the book, and then just wait for it to be mailed. The system will pass on the book request until someone can mail the book.

Charlotte - I've had that happen quite a bit recently.  Members who've apparently been here for a while, are no longer active, and the books roll over.  Finally on several of them, I just gave up and canceled after the third attempt.  Eventually I'll probably order the books again, but I've got plenty to read.  Good luck. Pat

A busy time of year, I've also noticed more transactions timing out.  Pat yourself on the back for doing your part to weed inactive books/members out of the system.

I've had several books I've requested time out in the past couple of weeks.  It's frustrating, because these are ones where there's only one copy in the system anyway, lol.  I hate the idea of having a credit (since I'm always low on credits anyway) being tied up and possibly missing something else that I want...but I've tried to look at it from the standpoint of everything happens for a reason.  Maybe that credit was meant for an even better book, etc.!
