Author: alix kates shulman
It is very frank, sexual and revealing. And the language is abosultely edible! Sasha is raw and on the edge of profound feminine insights, yet is battered again and again by the male-ism that dominates her culture. Women who have had few lovers may find this a difficult read, but that's the challenge.

While the book is set in the 1950s and early 1960s, the author's observations about womanhood, beauty, and the relationships between men and women are timeless.

This is a novel from the early days of the feminist movement, first published in 1969-70. It's a lot of fun to read, and though I read it long ago, I remember liking it a lot; it's very perceptive about a young woman's feelings and relationships in that era.
