I enjoyed Tricia's first Amish series (Big Sky series) and I was happy to see some of those characters make an appearance in The Memory Jar, since part of the book is set in West Kootenai, and part in Ohio. Sarah isn't a typical Amish woman, with her love of cupcake baking, but her best friend Patty had a big part in showing Sarah it is okay to be different. Jathan isn't a typical Amish man, either, only he took more guff over his differences. The healing that took place as Sarah and Jathan began to get to know each other and carry each others burdens, so to speak, was heartwarming. The story took some unexpected twists and turns, and I found the end a bit improbable, but this was a good start to a new series. I'm looking forward to reading on as more bachelors find their brides in Montana.

With thanks to Zondervan Publishers, via NetGalley, for my review copy.

After Patty died, Sarah has withdrawn from her friends in the community. She is much more at home in the kitchen, baking her cupcakes and coming up with new ideas. Shes now almost twenty-four and her marriage prospects dont look too good. She spends her days in a nearby bakery and is trying to get out more when she isnt working.
Shes been living in West Kootenai, Montana, for almost ten years now and every year, dozens of bachelors come to spend the hunting season there. Most leave with brides and Sarah hopes that eventually, shell meet the one for her. But its hard for Sarah to let anyone get close since she lost Patty.
Sarah has spent most of her life picking up small mementos from different events in her life, keeping them in her memory jar. Each item in the jar represents something in her life, alone or with others. When Jathan spends some time with Sarah, he is instantly attracted to her.
But Jathan has his own inner turmoil to weather. Even though he would like to have his own business, a wife and kids someday, he knows it is his duty as the youngest son to support his parents. When his dad has a stroke, Jathan will have to leave everything he holds dear, including Sarah, to take the reins of responsibility. Will Sarah and Jathan lets Gods love and His path steer them back to one another?
The Memory Jar is a sweet story with Gods healing at the heart of it. Jathan and Sarah are both well-developed characters and Tricia does another wonderful job of depicting the Amish way in her newest installment in Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors. I read this book in one sitting it captivated me and wouldnt let me go. I loved it!
