Oher Women were pretty, but none of them attracted men the way she did. Their quiet, sensual beauty proved no match for her boyish slimness and unblushing eagerness for love.

The Broadhurst family were, to all appearances, a typical mining family, happy and united.

But under the surface, all was not as it seemed.

Jinny, the wife and mother of the group, was the only thing holding them together.

Her son Jack was trapped into marrying a "shrew", her sister Lottie was "not right", and her older son, Larry, was obsessed with the girl who had jilted him.
