Interesting play by a dull, uninteresting writer. Hah! Just kidding. Awesome play by the Bard himself!

This book is about a merchant, Antonio, who becomes indebted to a devious Jew, on behalf of his beloved kinsman, Bassanio. The bond, if 3,000 ducats cannot be returned in the allotted time, is one pound of Antonio's flesh from next to the heart. I enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to others; but I didn't like how it portrays Christianity as a social acceptance requirement. The nice thing about this book is that on one side the original English is written and on the other side it is written in modern English. There is also a vocabulary list for each of the five acts.
